What is Therapy Like?
Who benefits from voice enhancement therapy?
Good candidates for voice enhancement therapy can:
Tolerate 45-minute therapy sessions,
Follow simple commands and respond to modeling from the therapist, and…
Commit to the treatment schedule and daily exercises (either independently or with support).
I’ll conduct an assessment to let us know how you’ll get the best results from therapy.
What are the risks of not doing therapy?
You risk not making your wants, needs, thoughts, and feelings known to others, compromising your relationships with your family, friends, and colleagues.
You risk your happiness and well-being because speech is one of the primary tools we use to meet our physical, emotional, and social needs.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Can I use my cell phone for online therapy sessions?
Do I have to attend every session?
How long will I be in therapy?
Typically, one-on-one therapy sessions are completed within four weeks.
Commitment to the program and completing the homework are vital to your success – as are family involvement and support. Due to the degenerative nature of Parkinson’s, you will need to maintain your newly acquired skills every day for the rest of your life.
The more committed you are, the better your results will be.
